The Co. Roscommon LEADER Programme 2014-2020 currently has funding available for projects across all Themes and Sub Themes on both a rolling basis and targeted calls. If you have a project idea and would like to submit an Expression of Interest or discuss your idea further, please contact a LEADER Project Officer.

LEADER Food Initiative Competitive Open Call for Projects 2018 (Support for Artisan, Micro & Small Food Producers)

Up to €15 million of LEADER funding has been announced nationally under the ‘LEADER Food Initiative’ to support new and existing artisan/small food and beverage producers and is intended to make a vital contribution to the development of local food businesses. Funding is available for capital investment, analysis and development, or training. The types of projects that are eligible for funding include the renovation and extension of production facilities and the purchase of processing equipment, as well as marketing development, competitiveness and innovation. Rolling Call

LEADER funding for projects under the following Themes and Sub Themes is available on a rolling basis.
Economic Development, Enterprise Development and Job Creation – Rural Tourism, Enterprise Development, Rural Towns and Broadband
Social Inclusion – Basic Services Targeted at Hard to Reach Communities and Rural Youth
Rural Environment – Protection and Sustainable use of Water Resources

LEADER Process

If the project is considered to be eligible, then you will be invited to submit an Expression of Interest. You can contact Roscommon LEADER Partnership by phoning 090 663 0252 or by completing the contact page on this website. Applicants whose EOIs are deemed Eligible in Principle (i.e. eligible under the LEADER Programme 2014-2020 Operating Rules and compatible with the Co. Roscommon Local Development Strategy) will be invited to submit a full application for funding. Application packs, including guidance notes, will be issued and assistance with the application process will be provided. For Rolling Call Projects, applications will be assessed on a first come, first served basis. For Targeted Call Projects, funding will be awarded based on a comparative and competitive assessment to projects which provide the most value and best meet the objectives of the LDS.
Only projects which are eligible under and comply in full with the LEADER Programme 2014-2020 Operating Rules will receive funding. A copy of the LEADER Programme 2014-2020 Operating Rules can be downloaded here.

County Roscommon Local Development Strategy (LDS) - LEADER Plan

The County Roscommon Local Development Strategy (LDS) is the plan for the delivery of the LEADER Programme 2014-2020 in Co. Roscommon. All projects funded must be compatible with the LDS. A copy of the Co. Roscommon LDS can be downloaded here.

LEADER Programme 2014-2020 Cross-Cutting Objectives

Innovation, Climate Change and Environment are Cross-Cutting Objectives of the LEADER Programme 2014-2020 in so far as projects funded have the potential to complement and support such initiatives.
