ACTIN
ACT: Connect for Integration
— Enhancing Language Learning and Cultural Awareness

About ACTIN
Our Mission
ACTIN is an EU project dedicated to fostering the integration and inclusion of migrant children and adolescents in educational settings, ultimately promoting their participation in European society.
How We Achieve Our Mission
- Language Development: We focus on vocabulary and grammar, as well as language-and-content learning, to empower young migrant learners in schools.
- Community Engagement: Our activities engage migrant families and local communities, fostering strong connections between migrants and locals.
- Professional Training: We offer high-quality training seminars for educators and professionals to enhance their support for migrant integration.
- Mentorship Programs: We implement a school mentoring scheme to provide additional support for educators.
- Resource Accessibility: We create an online open-source platform with diverse teaching and learning materials (videos, podcasts, protocols, etc.) available in multiple languages for everyone.
Our Approach
Our approach incorporates innovative language learning strategies, including pedagogical translanguaging, focus on form, language-and-content integration, and socio-cultural facilitation. We utilize evidence-based methods that account for individual learning differences, promoting agency, critical thinking, inductive learning, and analytical skills among learners.
