SICAP Social Enterprise & Self Employment Awards 2022

There was major boost for social enterprises and the self-employed business sector in county Roscommon this week when it was announced that a new Roscommon LEADER Partnership enterprise awards event has been launched in the county with a cash prize of 5,000 euro together with a sizable local advertising budget voucher to be won by at a ceremony in October.
The Social Enterprise and Self Employment awards will take place at the Kilbride Community Centre in Four Mile house on October 14th , commencing at 5.00p.m. and will celebrate the work of social enterprises in every corner of the community in the county and the huge contribution made by the self-employed small business sector through the back to work enterprise allowance scheme and other initiatives.
The new awards were launched this week by Roscommon Leader Partnership in association with the Roscommon Herald newspaper and Shannonside FM who are supporting the initiative with the presentation of a tremendous advertising budget voucher for one of the lucky winners.
There are two categories in the awards with four main prizes and entries have now been sought for the award of social enterprise of the year and self-employment business (through the Back to work enterprise allowance scheme) of the year.
The winner in each category will receive a 2,000-euro cash prize with 500 euro going to the runner up
On top of this, Shannonside FM and the Roscommon Herald have teamed up to present another major prize – offering one lucky winner a comprehensive free advertising package (over a six week period) ) on both the radio and in the newspaper.
“I am delighted that Roscommon LEADER Partnership is involved in the inaugural Social Enterprise and Self Employment Awards. Local social enterprises and the self-employed are the cornerstone of the community, and we are delighted to be spearheading this project with our partners Roscommon Herald and Shannonside FM. A film crew will also be filming the whole event and profiling the people involved and the supports on offer under the SICAP Programme “– Martina Earley, Chief Executive Officer said.

Social Enterprises play a very important role within the community and we are delighted to work with Roscommon Leader Partnership and the Roscommon Herald to highlight their contribution to society” Shannonside GFM General Manager Joao Soares said.
