Empowering Communities is pilot programme which targets area-based deprivation through a Community Development approach, funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Empowering Communities aims to set goals for a community through a person centred and collaborative approach.
AIMS:
The Empowering Communities Programme aims to break down barriers in a community to enhance quality of life. To empower members of the community to take initiative in reaching both community and individual goals.
To programme offers opportunity to enable members of the community in identifying and fulfilling gaps in the community. This enables the community to speak up about what their area needs.
The Communities’ needs will be fulfilled through one to one family and individual support, education and training opportunities, social groups and community events. The Empowering Communities programme offers guidance and support to individuals in find services that best suit their needs. Offering support in reaching out and advocating for the community and individuals when required.
