Mo Chairde

Mo Chairde is a standalone Community Services Programme provider. We provide a wide range of activities and vital supports to older people, as well as adults living with a disability. Our funding comes from Pobal, the HSE and other Fundraising Efforts.

Nutritious freshly cooked meals are delivered daily

Hot nutritious Meals, Desserts and Baked products are available for daily delivery (Mon-Fri) to our Client’s homes…and indeed, any members of the Community who wish to avail of this quality service!
Dishes include Roast Beef, Bacon & Cabbage, Lasagne, Roast Pork, Home-made Burgers, Fish Pies, Fresh Fish, Stews, a selection of Chicken dishes, and fresh homemade Soups. All meals are served with Potatoes and Vegetables.

We also offer a tasty selection of scones, soda bread, potato cakes and more. And we are happy to cater for any special dietary requirement.

An impressive range of activities are available at the centre

These include Daytour Outings, Chess Playing, Bingo Sessions, 25 Card Drives, Painting Classes, Supervised Keep Fit Exercise sessions, periodic Health & Wellbeing tutored courses, Computer Training and Pottery Classes

Transport is available in our wheelchair friendly Minibus.

Our recently purchased state of the art Minibus is fully wheelchair friendly, and is available to collect and return our Clients to their homes. We make every effort possible to accommodate our mobility-impaired passengers, whether that means staying seated in a secured wheelchair, or transferring to a coach seat once on-board.

A Weekly Laundry Service is provided for Meal Delivery Clients.

We collect laundry on a weekly basis, directly from our Clients’ homes. We professionally wash/dry/iron it, and then deliver it back

We organise social get togethers and Day Trips.

These include regular dinner parties in the Centre, many of which include entertainment. Our wheelchair friendly minibus collects and returns Clients to their homes. The minibus is also used for periodic Daytour Trips to places of historic interest.

We host Active Age Group get togethers and tutored classes

Our Active Age group meets in the Centre, every Monday and Wednesday.

We also host a Local Men's Group

The Centre hosts our Local Men’s Group every Thursday from October to May. The Men’s Group is similar to the Men’s Shed global concept.

We organise intergenerational events

We recently set up a programme of periodic interactive meetings and get togethers between older people who may have no grandchildren, and young people who may have no grandparents. The idea is to establish
an awareness of both group’s needs and lifestyle, and create a bond between them
