Roscommon Family Play Bus & Traveller Health Programme

Roscommon Family Playbus

Roscommon Family Play Bus is committed to creating a safe, healthy, happy learning environment for the children so that they may reach their full potential in all areas of personal and intellectual development. It is envisaged to improve the lives of disadvantaged families through this multi-disciplinary project. The target groups for the bus will be children from disadvantaged backgrounds whether it is travellers, foreign nationals, lone parents and families in crisis, to enable them to reach their full potential in a community that hinders this because of poor social networks and access to services. Good practice in family support would work from a strengths based perspective, providing services that are needs led and that services to families can be accessible in their own community. The vision for the play bus is that it will offer a high quality early years service for the children and provide a space for parents to access training or support.
