    LEADER

    The Rural Development Programme is designed to improve the quality of life in rural areas for all rural dwellers; including farmers, encourage diversification of economic activity through the development of rural enterprises, tourism, village enhancement and environmental initiatives.

    Rural Social Scheme

    The Rural Social Scheme (RSS) allows low-income farmers, who are unable to earn an adequate living from their farm holding, to earn a supplementary income through employment provided by local community development projects.

    Roscommon Family Playbus

    Roscommon Family Play Bus is committed to creating a safe, healthy, happy learning environment for the children so that they may reach their full potential in all areas of personal and intellectual development. It is envisaged to improve the lives of disadvantaged families through this multi-disciplinary project.

    TÚS

    This is an activation initiative for those who are unemployed and on the Live Register. It will support the work readiness of those who participate.
    The initiative will provide short-term quality and suitable working opportunities for people who are unemployed while at the same time carrying out beneficial work within communities.
    It will continue to the management of the live Live Register and act as a disincentive to those not eligible for work benifits.

    Walks Scheme

    Roscommon is one of a small number of locations in Ireland with a Rural Recreation Officer (RRO). A key initiative of the project is the Walks Scheme.  

    Jigsaw Roscommon

    Jigsaw Roscommon is a new project, part of a national network of Jigsaw projects supported by Headstrong, the national centre for youth mental health.
