Background

The resettlement of Syrian Refugees coming from refugee camps in Lebanon and Greece under United Nations Resettlement and Relocation programmes in response to the International humanitarian crisis.
The Project provides supports to Syrian families resettled under UNHCR Programmes throughout the county of Roscommon. Families arrived into Ireland with limited English or material possessions.

The aim of the project is to increase their proficiency in English. Reduce Social Isolation. Encourage independence through education and upskilling. Help them to be acknowledged for who they are rather than being stereotyped by status or ethnicity.
The programme is funded under the AMIF (Asylum Migration and Integration Fund) and Department of Justice and delivered on the ground by Roscommon LEADER Partnership.
